I’m so excited to share with you this recipe today. It’s my late grandma and mom’s recipe and is one of my favorite side dishes. I love the combination of sweet and savory (who doesn’t?) These Caramelized Plantains pair excellently with chicken, ground beef…any savory main dish.
Ingredients Needed:
- 4 plantains
- 2 TBS cinnamon
- 2 TBS brown sugar
- 2 TBS butter
Place all 4 plantains into a pan and sprinkle evenly all of the remaining ingredients. Cover with lid and allow to slowly cook on low heat for 2o minutes. Then flip plantains onto their other side and allow to cook for another 15 minutes.
The riper the plantain, the less amount of time needed to cook. So, if they’re really ripe be sure to keep an eye on them!
