Valentine’s Day is officially less than a month away! Regardless of your relationship status, Valentine’s Day can be celebrated as a day of love and friendship. Even in the times I didn’t have a significant other, I always enjoyed the day with my girlfriends baking, exchanging glittery gifts and of course snacking on endless amounts of candy.
The first recipe I am sharing for Valentine’s Day this year is Strawberry Italian Soda. This drink is such a yummy one. If you have never enjoyed Italian soda before, think of a milk shake with the twist of fizz! Even my fiancé who doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth loved this drink.
I think it’s a great treat to enjoy with your friends, family or sweetheart.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Cream (half and half)
- white sugar
- club soda
You’ll first need to create your homemade strawberry syrup (yum!)
To do this just boil halved strawberries with sugar and water. My portions were 1 1/2 cup of strawberries, 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Let it all come to a boil in a covered pot and then let stand for 10 minutes to thicken. Pour into a strainer over a bottle or bowl to let mixture thicken into a syrup texture.
To make soda:
Put ice into glasses. Pour in 1 cup of club soda, 2 tbs cream, 3 tbs strawberry syrup.
Stick a fun straw in the cups and you’re good to g
