“Rained gently last night, just enough to wash the town clean, and then today a clean crisp fat spring day, the air redolent, the kind of green minty succulent air you’d bottle if you could and snort greedily on bleak, wet January evenings when the streetlights hzzzt on at four in the afternoon and all existence seems hopeless and sad.”
How’s that for vividly beautiful literary description? That snippet from is from a wonderfully lyrical book that reminds me exactly of how this day felt while snapping these pictures. I couldn’t imagine a more appropriate outfit to wear on that Spring day. Soft, breathable fabrics. Sandals that let your toes feel the warmth of the sun (and make it easy to get barefoot in the grass quickly). And a shady hat that keeps your eyes from squinting, so you can truly enjoy the sunshine.
I remember telling my fiance this day, “This day and this outfit make me want to stroll around forever. Just taking all this fresh warm air in….and drinking a iced latte. Yes, I definitely need an iced latte.
Have you ever experienced this? It may sound silly that clothes can make me feel this giddy, but I believe in the small things. And when everything aligns with a perfectly detailed day, I’m in heaven.
Oh and happy Thursday! Tomorrow is Fri-Yay!
