Honey and Thyme Bourbon Cocktail

This cocktail is so good. In fact it’s so good that even though I’m currently going through a serious Margarita phase, I shared one of these with my hubs this past Saturday. I did end up making myself a Passion Fruit Margarita (recipe coming soon!), to keep my marg streak going strong. Because I can’t let the people down. The many people cheering on my love affair with margaritas.

Yes. There are many.

It’s just me rooting myself on and I guess we can count my hubs who always responds lovingly when it’s a Friday night and he asks me what I want to do and I yell from across our home “TAKE ME TO GET A MARGARITA”. He follows through folks. God bless him.

And it’s easy-peasy to make!

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounce your favorite bourbon
  • 4 teaspoons honey & thyme simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice.

To make the honey & thyme simple syrup boil 1 cup honey and 1 cup water together along with about 4 sprigs of  thyme. Keep boiling until honey is completely dissolved into water. Pour into separate container and allow to cool and settle in refrigerator for at least 1 hour. You can speed up the process if you must by placing the simple syrup into the freezer for about 20 minutes.

To make the cocktail pour simple syrup, bourbon and fresh lemon juice all into ice shaker with a handful of ice. Shake for about 20 seconds or until cocktail shaker is completely covered in condensation. Pour over ice in a glass and garnish with slice of lemon and thyme sprig.
