Although dresses are favored by many to wear on Thanksgiving, I love a good jean outfit for the holiday too. My rule of thumb is to look cute without sacrificing comfort. I need to be able to help myself to seconds (and thirds) without worrying if my food baby is showing 😉

I talked about this plaid shirt in this blog post, because it really is great. Unfortunately it’s almost sold out except for the smaller sizes, but it does run extremely big. So I would advise sizing 2 sizes down anyway.
You can never go wrong with a plaid shirt during Fall-I feel like the two are synonymous. But I really do love any laid-back, slouchy top during the season. Next up is to decide what style of denim to pair with it. When I came across these black flare jeans I knew I had to have them. I love the fit and super-flare hem. Not only are they fun, they are also really flattering too and fit really well!
So even though I’d want to reach for my lose-fitting BF jeans so my three helpings of Thanksgiving dinner can go unnoticed, I love the look of an oversized shirt paired with fitted jeans.
For accessories, they’re the usual. You’ve seen me style my burgundy suede heels, leopard clutch and white tassel earrings countless ways this season. I really think they are all great (and not steep) investments-you’ll wear them over and over again.
I’m sharing some great pieces below to help recreate a look I love for Thanksgiving, or really any Fall event, which is a slouchy sweater and fitted jeans.
