My Favorite Natural Skincare Products

After talking about My Favorite Natural Skincare Products here and there on my Instagram, I’m happy to finally put together a post dedicated to listing them all.

So if you’ve been looking to clean up your skincare and beauty routine (pun intended) check out these products that are cruelty-free and organic, vegan and/or all-natural!My Favorite Natural Skincare Products

Step 1: Take it little, by little.

I want to preface this by saying cleaning up your beauty and skincare regime is a step by step process, so don’t feel overwhelmed. It usually takes us a long time to find a moisturizer or toner we love and that works for our skin, so I know the idea of giving up one of your beloved products right away and having to find a replacement can be daunting. The way I did this was little by little and over the course of 1 and a 1/2 years. Because I also have very sensitive skin and get reactions to many products, it was a trial and error basis until I would finally find what works for me.

Step 2:  Start with your most toxic product or the product you use the most.

A good place to start is by choosing your most-used product or the product that you realize after research is the most toxic one in your regime. Even changing just one product will make you feel so good and will snowball into a cleaner beauty/skincare lifestyle.

You can use this chart to become familiar with labels that mean good things for your product. In fact going by these labels is safer than trusting phrases like “natural” and “pure”. Just always double-check the authority of the organizations that are labeled. My Favorite Clean Beauty and Skincare Products

Ok let’s get into the My Favorite Natural Skincare Products!

Moisturizer: Tula Hydrating Day and Night Cream

While I can’t find this product on any of the resource websites and apps I use to check my skincare products, I do feel very comfortable using it because firstly, it is not tested on animals. Secondly, it is vegetarian. The only reason it isn’t vegan is because the brand does use dairy to form it’s probiotics that are in the products. But these probiotics are literally what makes this product give the most incredible results. Lastly, this product doesn’t contain any of the below:

  • Phthalates
  • Parabens
  • Mineral oil
  • Petrolatum
  • Propylene glycol
  • Gluten
  • DEA
  • TEA
  • Sulfates
  • Synthetic fragrance

Because this moisturizer is on the thicker side, I only use it when my skin is excessively dry or some nights just underneath my eyes. It really is great though.

Serums: Asterwood

I found this brand on Amazon and it’s been one of my favorite skincare finds ever. This brand is incredibly affordable, especially since these products actually work and have awesome results. Their serums are organic, vegan, fragrance-free, parabem-ree and sulfate-free. I currently use the Asterwood 100% Pure Organic Hyaluronic Acid SerumMATRIXYL 3000 + ARGIRELINE Peptide + Vitamin C 4 oz Serum with Organic Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C Serum 4 oz with Organic Hyaluronic Acid. I just switch off between each serum, depending on which one my skin currently needs.

Oils: Leven Rose

I use this brand’s Jojoba Oil, Carrot Seed Oil and Rosehip Oil. All are additive-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free and kosher friendly. For this reason, I use these oils in place of any daily moisturizer I used to use. I love that I can use all of these at the same time, just rubbing each one onto the particular part of my face/neck that needs it. And I sometimes mix them too! Oils are amazing and the reason I’ve kissed my daily moisturizers goodbye.

Cleanser: Pigementclar Cleanser Deep Cleansing Brightening Foaming Cream

I’ve used this cleanser for years and I love the results as it helps with pigmentation. The brand boasts these details:

  • Proven effective ingredients, recognized by dermatologists
  • With soothing antioxidant thermal spring water
  • Ingredients strictly selected to be compliant with sensitive skin
  • Allergy-tested, non comedogenic skin care
  • Tested on sensitive skin
  • With packaging designed to minimize possible contamination
  • Quality guaranteed by use-by date.

However, I am looking for a replacement. Because although the brand doesn’t test any of its products or any of its ingredients on animals, anywhere in the world, they do say that one possible exception is if regulatory authorities required it for safety or regulatory purposes.

I’m not stressing myself out about it, because it took me forever (I’m talking years…) to find a cleanser that works well for me and takes off my makeup and bacteria without making my skin dry. BUT I am going to continue to be on the lookout. It’s very important to me to be as conscious as possible with cruelty-free products. I actually already found two cleansers I will be testing out throughout the next couple of weeks. I’ll keep you posted on that!

Also, this cleanser does have natural ingredients in, but not as many as I would like. However, if you do have pigmentation issues-this cleanser does do a wonderful job. So if achieving an even skin-tone is something you struggle with, this cleanser can help you get one the right track.

Toner: Pixi Glow Tonic or Pacifica Tonic

The Pixi Glow Tonic is vegan, cruelty-free and has so many wonderful natural ingredients. It really does brighten your skin tone. I noticed a difference in my skin within just a few uses. Amazing. I will say at first I was concerned with the phenoxyethanol ingredient, which is a germicidal preservative that helps the product not grow any bacteria. However, after lots of research I found out that natural skincare products are primarily water-based (which is very good in comparison to others which are alcohol based) in which case they require a preservative. And this is something that should not scare us, instead the products can me harmful to our skin without them. Those are the words from dermatologists and creators of clean beauty brands themselves.

When you use the Pacifica Tonic the amount of gunk you see come off skin you thought was already clean is crazy. I love how gentle this stuff is too. I tend to switch off between both the above toner and this one, because the Pacifica Tonic calms my skin and gives it a really clean and soft feel. The Pacifica Tonic is also 100% vegan and cruelty-free!

Peel: Pixi Peel & Polish

I had never done peels before this product. Neither at my dermatologist office or at home. And for some reason, it could be because I loved the Pixi Glow Tonic so much, I decided to try this peel out. I really love it. It’s efficient, while remaining gentle. And I love that it has exfoliating enzymes and extracts within the ingredients, but it’s texture also lets you physically exfoliate your skin when you wash it off.

Deodorant: Pacifica Wipes or ARM & HAMMER Essentials Solid Deodorant

I’m going on almost a year of not wearing deodorant regularly. (and yes I still have friends! 😉 ) I’ve been using these Pacifica deodorant wipes instead. They really work. Unless you plan on being very active, I would highly recommend swapping out your toxic deodorant for these wipes. When you begin looking at the ingredients in almost every deodorant, it’s actually terrifying what we’re clogging our lymph nodes with. As mention before, Pacifica is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

On the days I know I will be excessively active, I use ARM & HAMMER Essentials Solid Deodorant, which does not contain aluminum, parabens, colorants or animal-derived ingredients.

Some other tips and tid-bits:

Two clean beauty brands/resources that are on my list to try: Follain and Credo Beauty. They both look incredible and I’ve heard great things about both. And I love this clean brand for younger girls: C’est Moi. It’s makeup collection is colorful and light and it’s skincare is simple.

I only wash my face once a day. I use a fairly gentle, but very efficient cleanser. So I don’t like to strip my skin of too much everyday and only wash my face at night. Instead of washing my skin in the morning, I use my pixi glow tonic. That way if I am going to wear makeup that day, by the time I’m ready to apply it, my toner will be nice and dry. And if I don’t plan to wear makeup, I like for my toner to dry completely before I put on my oils too. I would make sure your cleanser isn’t over-doing it for your skin and if you need a strong cleanser because of breakouts or oily skin, try to find a secondary cleanser that is more gentle. Or try out what I do and use a toner in the morning instead. Remember, I’m OBVIOUSLY not a dermatologist. I’m just skin-obsessed and these are tips that have helped my skin significantly!

Besides the actual brand products own sites, my favorite one-stop shop for skincare products is This site has so many amazing products and I swear there is always some kind of promotion going on to save.

Wear your hair up, loosely and comfortably, at night if you use dry shampoo. It doesn’t matter which dry shampoo I use, when I have some in my hair I notice I will always get some kind of rash or little bumps on my skin. At the end of the day, dry shampoo isn’t meant to go on our faces. So, when we lay on our hair at night (for many hours) and our face is all up in there, you can imagine that your skin may have a reaction. Especially if you have sensitive skin like me.
