Sweet Garlic Chicken Crockpot Recipe

I could write a love story to my crockpot. The recipes I’ve come up with and meals I’ve eaten thanks to my crockpot have been delicious AND easy. And as someone who isn’t really that into meat, I love that the crockpot helps meat get really flavorful and tender. Today I’m sharing one of my go-to weekly recipes:

Sweet Garlic Chicken Crockpot Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 10-12 smaller chicken tenderloins (breasts can work too, but since those are bigger I would use only 6-7)
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • parsley sprigs for garnish

Directions:

Set crockpot to high and 4 hours. Add chicken tenderloins to the crockpot. After mixing all ingredients together, pour sauce into crockpot. THAT’S IT. 4 hours later you have deliciously tender and flavorful chicken that would work perfectly with a salad, veggies or rice.

Note: This is one of those recipes that’s easy to swap out ingredients for others. For instance, I hardly ever use ketchup in recipes. It works well in this recipe though, because it adds added tang and sweetness. You can also swap the soy sauce for hoisin sauce or the olive oil for sesame oil. It’s REALLY hard to screw up a crockpot recipe. I’d say the only thing to be careful about is not to add too much salt and pepper-which to avoid that mess up, just test the sauce and add to your taste along the way.
