Beet Orange Vodka Cocktail

Beet Orange Vodka Cocktail

The way I come up with most of my cocktail recipes is usually walking the isles of the supermarket and getting inspired by something I see on a shelf. Coming up with this Beet Orange Vodka Cocktail was no different. And before you shoot down the possibility of beets in a cocktail being tasty, I am here to tell you this is now one of my husband I’s favorite ways to drink vodka.

The product I saw that inspired this cocktail was a fresh and 100% natural, no sugar added beet and orange juice made locally. I immediately though of how good it would taste with ginger beer, which would add flavor and some carbonated crispness. And because we all know how well ginger beer and vodka pair together, I decided on that spirit to finish of the cocktail. Yum!

This drink is so refreshing, with only a subtle earthy taste that the beets offer (plus the beautiful color too). I also think this Beet Orange Vodka Cocktail would make a perfect brunch drink too and it would be so easy to make of pitcher of it.

Serves: 2

  • 3 oz vodka
  • 6 oz fresh beets and orange juice, make sure it’s no sugar added
  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • orange slices for garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into the cocktail shaker the vodka and beets and orange juice, shake. Pour into two glasses, filled halfway with ice. Top off each drink with roughly 1/4 ginger beer. If you prefer it a bit sweeter or you’d just like more ginger flavor I’d say add another 1/2-1 oz of ginger beer. Finish the drinks off with a couple of orange slices!
