I think I mention the weather in Miami, where I reside, in almost every post here on SLC. But when the weather is so extreme, it really does affect a lot of aspects of your life-especially how you dress. For instance, today, halfway through September I remind you, it was 97 degrees. Crazy.

When you live in such hot weather, you can miss out on the polish a good layer gives outfits. However, there is one layering piece that works even where the weather takes a while to cool down. The jacket I’m loving for Fall is a lightweight blazer. In fact, I had a couple of meetings today and I wore this exact blue and white stripe blazer and sure I wouldn’t have been able to stand in the scorching sun for too long, but I managed to keep cool enough and enjoy a layered look…finally!
One of my favorite ways to wear lightweight blazers is with shorts. Whether it’s a pair of denim cutoffs or a more tailored short-I love the mix of structure up top and casual on the bottom. And because a lightweight blazer is such a versatile piece, especially while transitioning into Fall, I wanted to share some of my favorites I’ve found-all under $80.
