November is here! My home is bursting at the seams with fall and winter decor and I couldn’t be more excited to embrace this most wonderful time of the year.
With the coziest season of them all comes more joy in soaking up the simple moments. Drinking your coffee in the morning (maybe adding some peppermint creamer to it 😉 ), laying on the couch reading a book in the afternoon or decorating your home while playing holiday music. All of which can be wonderfully enhanced by lighting a Chesapeake Bay Candle from the Heritage Collection.
This candle collection celebrates the importance of self-care and at-home wellness, while nodding to the coastal beauty of the Chesapeake Bay that runs through Maryland and Virginia.
With rustic and earthy scents, each candle fills a room with a soft and complex aroma that is what makes this collection my favorite one yet. And as always, I feel safe and comfortable lighting Chesapeake Bay Candles, because each is made with a natural soy-wax blend and features a cotton wick.
Now let’s talk about where in my home I lighten things up ;)
One of my favorite places to add a candle to is my bar cart. It breaks things up a bit with all of the bottles and adds a touch of homeyness. I have the Heritage Collection Beach Bonfire Candle there and love that it offers a masculine and earthy scent. This is because of it’s composition that includes eucalyptus and cedarwood essential oils. I tend to gravitate towards these type of scents, even preferring my perfumes to be a little musky.
A decorative tray is a classic place to have a candle. Especially since it’s easy to dress up a tray for the holidays, placing a seasonally-inspired candle in the mix is fun. Since my decorative tray lays on my kitchen counter, I love the idea of filling that space with a yummy scent. So I reached for the Pumpkin Latte Candle. Pumpkin latte scents are synonymous with the season and this candle lives up to the hype.
It reminds me of brown sugar, creamy vanilla and what it smells like to take a pumpkin pie right out of the oven. My favorite aspect of this candle is that it fills a room, but it’s far from overwhelming-which I find most candles of a similar scent to be.
Here’s the same scent except in the cutest tin, which looks perfect on my nightstand!
The Woodland Berry smells as heavenly as you think it might. Imagine the scent of a fire crackling mixed with the subtle sweetness of berries. Black current with a soft musk, mmm….I think this scent is the most unique in the Heritage Collection.
I love having friends and family over during the holiday season. I get to fill the air with the scent of Christmas trees and serve bubbly in gilded glasses. What’s not to love? 🙂
One of my hostess tips is to prepare a tray before guests arrive and place on it your serving glasses, your bottle of champagne or wine and a couple decorative accents. I love the idea of placing a candle on the tray and having the scent greet guests as they pour themselves a glass.
I went with the the Balsam Fir candle, because is there a most classic holiday scent? It’s crisp, fresh and perfectly inviting during this season.
Two other deliciously-scented candles in the Chesapeake Bay Candle Heritage Collection are the Cinnamon Spice and Chestnut Acorn. Both smell of vanilla and nutmeg filling the air with holiday nostalgia.
The Cinnamon Spice Candle is made with clove leaf, eucalyptus, lime and patchouli essentials oils, which make it more complex than your regular cinnamon candle. And the Chestnut Acorn Candle reminds me of chestnuts roasting with a hint of maple brown sugar.
If all this talk of amazing scents filling up your home and embracing the most wonderful time of the year doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will! Candles will forever be something that I believe a home just isn’t complete without ❤
