I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! Mine was filled to the brim with love, as one of my best friends got married in the coolest wedding ever. Then I spent the rest of the weekend having some much needed relaxation and enjoying a few walks around the neighborhood, since the weather here in Miami was so lovely.
If you’ve been an SLC reader for long enough, you might have noticed I don’t really dress in very fitted clothing. In fact, unless it’s a sleek pair of jeans, I kind of hate tight clothes. Even when it comes to dresses, I’ve always found that a silhouette is more flattering and feminine when it’s fitted in some areas and flowy in others-a perfect balance. That’s one of the main reasons I love this red ruched mini dress so much.

Side note: I get asked often about which highlighter I use and two of my favorites are the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit and the Ulta Face Highlighting Duochrome Stick.

This ruched mini dress is extra flattering because of the cinched detailing at the waist and the ruffle hem of the skirt. It gives it an accentuating fit, but still has softer and feminine details like the butterfly sleeves and surplice top. I just love this dress!
And I like that the red is a more diluted, almost burnt red hue. If you’re having a cold winter, I’d pair this little number with OTK black boots and a leather jacket! Then when things warm up, or if you’re having a just chilly winter like me, wear it with lace-up sandal or neutral heels.
P.S. I’m pretty obsessed with my faux fur purse that doubles as a crossbody too. So cute and comes in three colors!
