As Spring quickly approaches, I have my mind on the fruit-inspired cocktails the season brings. Although my go-to spirit is tequila, I felt inspired by blackberries I had in my fridge to create a gin cocktail with them. Enter this Blackberry + Mint Gin Cocktail.
Gin has never been my first choice in liquor, as I find it often too overwhelming. I’m also rarely willing to take risks when out for cocktails-I’d rather get experimental at home. However, I do know that when pairing gin with intense flavors like citrus, tart, or in this case mint, it’s easier to create a well-balanced drink. One where you can enjoy the botanical notes of the gin, but not feel like you’re drinking perfume.
I ended up loving this Blackberry + Mint Gin Cocktail. I think it would even make a great brunch drink, because of how light and refreshing it is.
