There aren’t a ton of Fall trends I can enjoy here in Miami, where we hardly have a season change as far as weather is concerned. Fall here is pretty much getting to enjoy less humidity and more of a crispness in the air and hey-I’ll take what I can get! For this reason it’s only on the days when the weather truly surprises us where I can wear some real Fall clothes as oppose to the usual, which is just embracing the season via color scheme. However, one piece I do get a good amount of wear in every year are Summer to Fall transitional lightweight sweaters.
SHOP MY LOOK
Not only are lightweight sweaters sometimes the only sweaters I get to wear here in Miami, they also make a great layering piece for those of you who actually get to experience weather changes and at least one is always packed when I travel. Even when I go to a beach vacation, I love a light sweater on top if a bathing suit for those evenings out on the beach when the breeze can get a little chilly. My GOODNESS do I miss the beach. I have a couple of isolated beach getaways coming up soon and I can just about taste the salty air-that’s how excited I am.
Anyway, back to Summer to Fall transitional lightweight sweaters. I recently purchased this knit sweater and love it. It’s $10. Yes. TEN DOLLARS. (it’s currently sold out, but I shared similar ones below!) And is soft and simple and perfect. I wash on gentle and air dry and it’s all good. I waited to see how it managed that first before buying it in more colors, because for $10 this versatile sweater is just too good.
My favorite way to wear sweaters is with jeans shorts. I’ve always loved the mixed vibes, cozy on top and chill on the bottom. And since it’s sandal season all-year-long where I live, I paired this look with these pretty pearl sandals I just can’t get enough of.
I don’t think I’m ready for booties just yet, even though booties are probably the easiest way to embrace the season change when you live in season-less places, since they can easily be worn with even a summer dress for a touch of Fall, while staying cool and breezy in the heat. We’ll see when I bust out the booties!
