We’re just about a week away from Thanksgiving and if I’m being honest, I’ve got mixed feelings about it. In fact, the entire holiday season this year. I’m so grateful for so many things, the main thing being the health of myself and my family and friends, especially during these times. However, there’s such a fog over everything. Everything going on and the fact that we’re several weeks away from the new year has me still feeling like it’s all surreal. I personally can’t do too much zooming out and overthinking, because my anxiety will get the better of me. I’ve got to reel myself in and take it day by day.
I’m hopeful though. And I’m going to continue to do my very best every day to embrace the positivity and celebrate the little things that are just as special, sometimes even more than the grander things we’ve all been missing. Just so you know, having a space here on SLC and on my Instagram to share fun stuff and to connect with you has always been wonderful, but it’s been even more special this year ❤️

Today’s look features a dress that is SO GOOD. It’s a beautiful burgundy/wine colored slip dress, but it’s so much better than many other slip dresses I’ve tried on before. I usually don’t end up purchasing slip dresses, because they tend to be so thin and barely clinging on to being an actual piece of clothing. This dress isn’t that. It’s lightweight, but the fabric is thick enough so that you feel covered. It’s such a flattering slip dress. The bust part also has a double layer which offers added coverage. Did I mentioned this dress is $30?
The color is so rich and depending how the light hits it, it looks like it has red undertones or purple undertones. Love them both. I wore the dress with one of my most-worn pairs of heels over the last 5 years. I have these in 3 colors, but unfortunately looks like Steve Madden stopped making them. I found this pair that also comes in a bunch of colors, so from now on if I want a new color I’ll be getting these.
This would be a perfect dress to toss a crop sweater on top of too and even do a little front tuck into the belt of this dress. It would also look great worn casually with a pair of slide mules or white sneakers and a denim jacket. I really recommend this one! I’m wearing an XS and it runs TTS.
Have a beautiful one, friends!
