Every blue moon I put together a cocktail that knocks my socks off. This French Vodka Gimlet with Lillet & St. Germaine is one of those. This cocktail is botanical and refreshing with subtle sweetness-all my favorite flavor notes. Not to mention it’s a pretty muted pink, which adds to this drinks vibe.
If you prefer gin, you can easily substitute the vodka with gin and make this a truer Gimlet. (Gimlets are traditionally gin-based). However, I wanted the floral and earthy notes of the both the Lillet and St. Germaine shine through, so vodka was a better choice since it’s more subtle than gin. My husband, who prefers simple and straightforward drinks, really enjoyed this cocktail too.
